Wow, last month we had 6 inches to a foot of snow on the ground, and now in places we have 6 inches of fresh green grass. We are still a week or two away from rotational grazing but the animals are nibbling in their winter paddocks.
Well, our optimistic April 1st opening of the new farm store has turned into a hopefully realistic May 1st opening. The details of finishing a space take a bunch more time than you would think. We are getting there though.
Here is the view as you pull in to get some meat.
This is the view when you walk in the front. We’ll have a counter in the middle and along the back wall will be chest freezers.
Besides my side job as a farm store carpenter, I’m also in the middle of lambing season. Here is a ewe in her jug with her twins. After they lamb they spend a day or two in a 4ft by 4ft pen by themselves to help with the bonding process.
The lambs like to hang out under the pellet feeder.
We can’t wait to show you the new store in a few weeks.
Thanks for reading,
Leith MacKenzie
