Changing Seasons

Writer: Leith MacKenzieLeith MacKenzie

As much as we love sunshine, we need some rainy days every once in a while. All the cows are grazing nice, lush pasture, supplemented with some hay. The hay adds fiber and energy to balance out the high-protein fall grass.

The sheep have tons of stockpiled grass and should be grazing into December or maybe January, weather permitting. Today all the ewes on the solar farms got moved home to get ready for breeding next week.

Last week we moved all the lambs into the barn for the winter. It's nice to have them warm and cozy during this wet cold weather.

Thanks for reading,
